In memoriam Juan Manuel Pérez. It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Dr. Juan Manuel Pérez on December 18, 2009. BEWEB 2010 is dedicated to his memory. Juan Manuel has made contributions in the area of information retrieval, multidimensional databases, and web-based technologies. He not only was a valuable colleague but also a charming friend.
